LIST is pleased to announce another public-sector contract: With the construction of a new two-court sports hall at Marie-Curie-Gymnasium in Recklinghausen, LIST is undertaking a project that is not only architecturally challenging but also has a positive social impact.
The construction of sports facilities and schools gives us the opportunity to fully leverage our expertise and make a tangible contribution to society.
Modern sports facility with a sustainable design
The new sports hall is being built on a site of approximately 1,900 m² and is designed for flexibility and durability in both its functionality and architecture. An asymmetrical division of the hall into 2/3 and 1/3 sections allows for parallel use and a variety of usage scenarios. The hall is complemented by an additional multipurpose room.
Due to its location at an intersection, the façade features a rounded profile that blends strikingly into the surrounding environment. Large-scale aluminum-glass façade elements ensure transparency and create a bright, welcoming atmosphere.
Landscaping, solar power, and district heating
A particular focus is placed on sustainable construction and energy concepts: The building’s front extension will feature intensive greening, while the main roof area will be extensively greened—in combination with a photovoltaic system. In addition, the cladding facade will be greened using trellises with plants. District heating will be used as the heating system. Inside, the design includes wooden baffle walls—robust, functional, and at the same time providing a high quality of environment for the students.
Through the combined expertise of LIST Construction, LIST Ing, and LIST Eco, the group covers the entire value chain from a single source.
