Sustainability Plan Dombühl Logistics Park
DLH is planning a new logistics campus in the Bavarian municipality of Dombühl. LIST Eco has been commissioned to develop the sustainability concept. The logistics campus is to consist of 61,100 square meters of warehouse and logistics space, 3,000 square meters of office space, and areas for manufacturing and production. This will be built on a site covering nearly 125,500 square meters.
The scope of services includes a comparison of design alternatives with regard to life cycle assessment (LCA), energy demand calculations, and circularity analysis of various materials and building products. Particular attention was also paid to a biodiversity concept aimed at preserving existing habitats for species and actively supporting the establishment of new animal species. In addition, a DGNB pre-check (Version V18) and an EU Taxonomy pre-check were conducted. A sustainable concept covering all key areas: The goal of our service was to develop a sustainable concept for the client that addressed all key areas and highlighted the synergies between the evaluation criteria. In doing so, both economic and ecological requirements were taken into account in the analysis of life cycle assessment (LCA) variants and energy demand calculations. Furthermore, the Madaster platform was used to evaluate and compare the LCA variants for their circularity. To ensure the property meets the requirements of the EU Taxonomy, a climate risk analysis and an EU Taxonomy pre-check were conducted. As early as the initial planning phases, the impacts of future climate risks and EU Taxonomy requirements were identified and incorporated into the planning. From an energy perspective as well, the property was designed to be future-proof. The variants examined in the energy concept were mapped onto the CRREM pathway, and the stranding dates were determined. With the help of the biodiversity analysis and assessment, the outdoor facility planning was optimized with regard to the establishment of native animal species and plants. Based on the planning available at the time, a DGNB V18 New Construction pre-check was also conducted. This was intended to ensure that the planning and building standards meet the requirements for Gold certification. Optimization and adaptation measures were developed in collaboration with the client.
