LIST is pleased to have secured another contract from the public sector: With the construction of a new two-court sports hall at the Marie Curie Gymnasium in Recklinghausen, LIST is undertaking a project that is not only architecturally challenging but also has a positive social impact.
The construction of sports arenas and schools gives us the opportunity to fully apply our expertise and make a tangible contribution to society.
Modern sports facility with a sustainable design
The new sports hall is being built on a site of approximately 1,900 m² and is designed—both functionally and architecturally—for flexibility and durability. An asymmetrical division of the hall into 2/3 and 1/3 sections allows for parallel operation and versatile usage scenarios. The hall is complemented by an additional multipurpose room.
Due to its location at an intersection, the facade features a rounded contour that blends strikingly into the surrounding area. Large aluminum-and-glass facade elements provide transparency and create a bright, welcoming atmosphere.
Landscaping, Solar Power, and District Heating
A special focus is placed on sustainable construction and energy concepts: The building’s front porch will feature intensive greening, while the main roof area will have extensive greening—combined with a photovoltaic system. In addition, the cladding facade will feature greening via trellises with plants. District heating will be used as the heating system. Inside, the design includes wooden impact walls—robust, functional, and at the same time providing a high quality of environment for the students.
Through the combined expertise of LIST Construction, LIST Ing, and LIST Eco, the corporate group covers the entire value chain from a single source.
