Conversion of former Goodyear halls in Philippsburg
This existing industrial property in Philippsburg has a floor space of around 120,000 square meters and has previously been used as a tire warehouse.
After the move, the client deliberately opted for transformation rather than demolition in order to create a flexible, rentable industrial site. Based on a joint status check of the existing building, economic efficiency, and climate protection, LIST Bau was commissioned with the revitalization.
Under a closed roof, fire walls were subsequently erected using a hybrid construction method with precast aerated concrete elements to divide the hall into fire compartments of approximately 10,000 square meters. At the same time, the fresh water supply and electrical installation, including the fire alarm system, transformer systems, medium-voltage network, and lighting, were comprehensively renewed. The replacement of larger smoke extraction fans with high PV coverage on the roof was carried out with precision using a helicopter.
In addition, two free-standing, two-story office buildings were constructed and connected to the existing hall. LIST Ingenieure was responsible for the 3D planning, while LIST Eco provided support with energy and life cycle assessments as well as consulting on the CO₂ balance and contract award.
