Expansion of the Production Building Sachsenheim

The industrial real estate group SEGRO has once again commissioned LIST Bau to carry out the turnkey construction of a building project.

In the Stuttgart region, a production facility has been expanded for the second time. The complex includes a production hall, an adjacent three-story office building, and a loading and unloading bay. The tenant, premium automotive supplier DRÄXLMAIER, manufactures storage systems for Porsche’s electric vehicles at the plant in Sachsenheim.

A unique feature of this project was the lighting, which was provided entirely through skylight strips in the gable roof. Because electrical components are manufactured at the plant, a conductive layer was applied over the conventionally reinforced floor slab. In addition, Ulbrich joints—which create a seamless transition between floor joints—were installed on site. For LIST Ingenieure, which was responsible for the building services, the challenge lay in aligning the design with the systems in the existing buildings. For example, the sprinkler system in the new hall had to be connected to the sprinkler control panel and the tank in the existing structure.
