DGNB ESG Verification for Assessing Compliance with the EU Taxonomy New Office Building in Düsseldorf
The Le Coeur project is a modern office complex in the heart of Düsseldorf that was redesigned as part of a first-class real estate development project.
The spaces are designed for high-quality office, administrative, retail, and restaurant uses and are aligned with current requirements for ESG, energy efficiency, and user comfort.
LIST Eco was commissioned to conduct the DGNB ESG verification to assess compliance with the EU Taxonomy. The goal was to evaluate the project against the EU Taxonomy’s requirements for the economic activity “renovation” and to provide the necessary evidence for an ESG-compliant assessment. As part of this service, the project was assessed to determine whether it meets the technical assessment criteria of the EU Taxonomy regarding the protection objectives “climate action” and “climate change adaptation,” as well as the corresponding Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) criteria and minimum social protection requirements.

The “EU Taxonomy pre-check” service involves conducting a pre-check of the building’s existing plans or project documentation to assess its taxonomy compliance, including an evaluation of the feasibility of making significant contributions toward the environmental objectives of climate protection and climate change adaptation. As part of this process, we provide an assessment of the potential degree of compliance and a recommendation regarding the selection of the environmental objective.
