Carbon Due Diligence and Climate Risk Analysis Trossingen Logistics Warehouse
For the planned construction of a logistics warehouse in Trossingen, LIST Eco was commissioned by its sister company, LIST Bau Stuttgart, to conduct a Carbon Due Diligence Light and a climate risk analysis.
During the course of the project, the current state (thermal envelope, building services) was first examined and described, followed by the target state (measures, construction). The building was then classified into a CRREM path for the “Industrial, Distribution Warehouse” category based on the framework parameters, and the stranding dates for the current and target states were compared using various variables.
The Climate Risk Analysis
In addition, our services include a subsidy analysis as well as a climate risk analysis. Examining the consequences of climate change for individual parameters—so-called climate indicators—is important for many aspects of the building, both today and in the future. Specifically, this involves examining the developments of key climate indicators (heat, precipitation, storms, etc.) in the near and distant future. To this end, we offer an analysis of the specific, physical impacts of climate change on the real estate project, as required by the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance in Annex II, Section 7.1. In particular, forward-looking data (forecasts) on potential developments are incorporated, and recognized scenarios are used to calculate possible trajectories for a property regarding financial and non-financial climate risks. The analysis served to reduce the financial risk associated with planning for future climate events, both for existing buildings and for potential new construction. In this context, operational and nature-based solutions were prioritized.
